Two weeks ago, the Lady Cougars Volleyball team just recently ended their season in round three of the MHSAA 6A playoffs. Though they came up short against Gulfport, these girls have much to be proud of. Earlier in the month, the Lady Cougars became Region 6-6A Champions! To top that, they did so undefeated! The last time this was achieved was back in 2014. With this being their last year, Maggie Heath, Salayah Barnes, Chloe Dahl, Deneia Simpson, and Zoey Roberts are leaving as undefeated region champions. History was also made on Oct. 11 when Heath became the first player at Northwest to reach 1,000 assists! The senior finished her season with a total of 1,073 assists. Postseason, Barnes, Roberts, and sophomore Nala Salter were voted All-Region honors for the 1st team. In addition, Salter was named Region MVP.  Heath along with Talley Taylor, a sophomore, was voted All-Region honors for the 2nd team. Coach Poole was also named Region Coach of the Year.  Sophomore Chloe Williams was recognized as an honorable mention. The Lady Cougars had a lot to celebrate this season. Their talents will continue to take them far.
