After the new year, many people have begun to order new books and save up for potential releases. The question is, will 2023 be a good year for book-lovers? Are there many anticipated books? You’re in the right place, for I have collected a list of some of the most anticipated books of 2023 to look out for. Another thing to note is that some of these books may have already been released in early 2023, or may have been released internationally except for in the U.S and thus are anticipated to be released here as well. 

 

Happy Place– Emily Henry (Romance), release date: April 25th

Maame– Jessica George (Fiction, coming-of-age), release date: January 31st

Looking for Jane– Heather Marshall (Historical fiction), release date: February 7th

A Day of Fallen Night– Samantha Shannon (Fantasy), release date: February 28th

Two Twisted Crowns (The Shepherd King #2)– Rachel Gillig (Dark Fantasy), expected publication date: October 19th 

The Brothers Hawthorne- Jennifer Lynn Barnes (Mystery, young adult), expected publication: August 29th 

Yellowface– R.F Kuang (Literary fiction, contemporary thriller), expected publication: May 25th 

The Bandit Queens– Parini Shroff (Mystery, thriller, domestic fiction), published: January 3rd

Phaedra: A Novel– Laura Shepperson (Greek mythology), published: January 10th

Pirate Enlightenment, or the Real Libertalia– David Graeber (Nonfiction, history), published: January 24th
