Which Place Has The Best Chicken Tenders

February 24, 2023

Hello foodies! The Chicken Wars have been raging for a long time. I thought now was the perfect time to issue who I think is the true winner! I went to six suggested chicken places and tried their tenders. Countdown the top six with me!

#6: Zaxby’s
Before you start yelling at the computer screen, let me explain. First, let’s start with the good. Lately, since I’ve been, the chicken and the fries were hot. And I mean HOT! I have to wait a good bit before I can eat. (I don’t mind that at all) Zaxby’s usually has good service. I love that you have such a variety of meals and sides to choose from. If you haven’t, I recommend getting the loaded fries. They are so delicious. My mouth is just watering thinking about them now. It is a plus that you can get the fries with any sauce that you want. (not just ranch) However, sometimes the fries can be over-seasoned. Also, their toast is often not toasted enough for my liking. Then oftentimes the chicken tastes way too salty which makes it hard to enjoy. The salty chicken is the main reason that it is at the bottom of my list.

#5: Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders
Located near the Pearl Outlet, Huey Magoo’s is one of the new chicken places around here. I just tried it recently and I would say they are okay. I got the three-piece meal which comes with fries, Texas toast, and a sauce. You can get your chicken grilled, breaded, or sauced. The chicken was good. Their chicken goes great with the Magoo’s Dip. Magoo’s Dip is one of their homemade sauces. It reminds me of Cane’s sauce, just a little more peppery. The fries weren’t salty which I appreciate. The toast was ok. Better than Zaxby’s for sure. Their Watermelon Iced Tea is amazing! I would recommend it if you wanted other than just plain sweet tea. They have some variety, but not as much as Zaxby’s. If I am in the area, I plan on going back and trying one of their salads or sandwiches. However, I don’t see this as being one of my go-to’s.

#4: Super Chix
Like Huey Magoo’s, Super Chix is fairly new. I would describe this place as the Five Guys of Chicken Tenders. They don’t have meals, so you have to order everything separately which can become pretty expensive. They have loaded fries which is always a plus in my book. You can also get frozen custard. They have classic flavors along with a flavor of the week. I recommend trying one of their cold fusions. My favorite flavor is Mint Oreo. Just like Huey Magoo’s, I wouldn’t say that their chicken is anything special. I would suggest getting your tenders sauced in their Nashville Hot sauce. It is so good! I also love the fact that you can get your sauce from a station, and not have to ask for it. It can be on the expensive side, but I think that it is worth a try.

#3: Slim Chickens
Lately, I’ve been going to this place whenever I am craving chicken wrap. If you have tried them yet, you need to RUN to grab one of these! A total of 5/5! Slim Chickens is always good in my opinion. The chicken always tastes fresh and is not greasy. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well. Their toast is okay but can be soggy sometimes. I usually get their ranch chips instead of fries. I am not a huge fan of their fries. You can get a variety of sauces and sides. If you want, you can even get chicken and waffles. They also have mac and cheese bowls which are good. Their dessert jars are a nice way to end your meal. Plus you can keep the jar as a souvenir. Slim Chickens is truly deserving to be in the top three.

#2: Chick-fil-a
I feel like this is a given, but I will explain. They are juicy, hot, and delicious! This is usually my go-to if I am feeling hungry on the way to work. Chick-fil-a has never let me down. The waffles fries are the best and separate them from the rest. (see what I did there) I love dipping the chicken and the fries in Chick-fil-a sauce. Paired with their classic lemonade, chick-fil-a is probably one of the best fast food restaurants around. However, there is one that I think is just a little bit better.

#1: Cane’s
The chicken is always on point. Cane’s chicken is 100% hot and crispy every time. I know that they don’t have variety, but that means they have all the time to perfect. And it clearly shows! Their chicken goes with the signature Cane’s sauce. The same goes for their toast. Their toast is buttery goodness. I always make a mini chicken sandwich with their toast. I could go off and eat Cane’s right now! Their fries and chicken are never salty. I am never disappointed when I go to Cane’s. If it was closer to my house, I would go there almost every day.
